After a nervous breakdown derails her last tour, Jocelyn (Lily-Rose Depp) is determined to reclaim her rightful status as America's biggest and sexiest pop star. Reigniting her passions is Tedros (Abel "The Weeknd" Tesfaye), a nightclub impresario with a sordid past. "The Idol" is a series that deals with and investigates the unruliness of toxic relationships, the controversial emotions that lie beneath the unbridled pursuit of success and power and the consequent difficulty of dealing with fame, as well as the painful effects of abuse and addiction, thus following the excessive, over-the-top and overtly explicit tones that also characterized the much-talked-about Euphoria TV series itself.
